A very good morning to our respected principal, teachers all my friends. The topic off my speech today is 'The dangers of Socual Networking' . Have chosen this topic because I feel it is one that is relevant to all of us present here.
Social networking is one of the most popular internet activities among teenagers. It involves using websites such as facebook and Twitter please share information with others and connect with them by creating a personal profile online. Most of this online interaction is for fun, there are many dangers involved in social networking which teenagers need to be aware of.
Most social networking sites require members to be at least 18 years of age. However, underage users can easily fake their date of birth to get themselves registered on these websites. These underage users may not be aware of privacy issues and inadvertently post personal information of inappropriate photographs online. when this information falls into the wrong hands, teenagers to become victims of harassment and cyberbullying. Can be a cause of emotional distress for teenagers
Most people who havjoined social networking sites will admit they only networking can be an addictive hobby. You need just meet regular visits to update their profiles and to visit your profile pages of the acquaintances. A lot of time that is spent on social networking can be put to better use, such as doing school work and interacting with family members.
While the internet used to be primarily used for researching information, now most teenagers keep an eye on it as a communication tool. This can lead to an unhealthy culture why teenagers spend more time socialising via the computer rather than to face to face interaction.
